How do I publish my announcement?

1. Prepare Your Content:Write your press release, announcement, or event description. Ensure it is final, proofread, and ready for public viewing.
2. Select a Package:Choose from our available publishing and distribution packages.
3. Make Payment:Pay for your selected package securely through the Collab. platform.
4. Submit Your Content: Providing your final content, any relevant images or multimedia, and your contact information.
5. Review & Publishing:Our team will review your submission to ensure it meets our guidelines. This is a compliance check only, not an edit or fact-check. If approved, your announcement will be published according to your package timeline.
6. Share Your News:Once published, you will receive a link to your announcement, which you can share on your own website, social media, and with your network.

Do you edit or proofread my content?

No. We do not provide any editing, proofreading, or content creation services. It is your responsibility to ensure your content is accurate, well-written, and free of errors before submission. Submissions that do not meet basic quality standards may be rejected.

How long does it take to publish?

Publishing timelines depend on your selected package:

• Basic/Economy:2-3 business days
• Standard:1-2 business days
• Premium:Within 24 hours
• Expedited (add-on):Within 12 hours

You will be notified once your announcement is live.

Can I include images or videos?

Images. All packages allow for the inclusion of images, logos, to enhance your announcement.

Can I make changes after submission?

Once your announcement is published, changes are not permitted without a new submission. Please ensure your content is final before submitting. 4. Submission Guidelines & Requirements

To ensure your announcement is published successfully, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Content Requirements:

• Final Draft:Your content must be the final version, fully proofread and ready for public release.
• Format:Submissions should be in clear, readable text. Preferred format is a Word document or plain text pasted into the submission form.
• Headline:A clear, compelling headline (maximum 100 characters recommended).
• Body:The main content of your announcement. Be clear, concise, and factual. Recommended length: 300-800 words.
• Dateline:Include the city and date of the announcement (e.g., "JOHANNESBURG, DD MM YY – ").
• Boilerplate:A short "About [Your Company/Organisation]" section at the end (50-100 words).
• Contact Information:Media or public contact details (email, phone, website) for follow-up inquiries. This will be published with your announcement.

Multimedia:

• Images should be high-resolution (minimum 300dpi) and relevant.
• You must own the rights to all images submitted.
• File formats: JPEG, PNG (max 5MB per image).
• Video links: YouTube or Vimeo URLs accepted.

Language:

• All announcements must be in English(or accompanied by an English translation) to ensure broad accessibility.

Compliance:

• Your content must not violate any laws or our prohibited content list.
• You are solely responsible for ensuring your content is accurate and truthful.

Where will my announcement be published?

Your announcement will be published on the Collab. platform in our dedicated Announcements, Press Releases & Events section, making it visible to our community of users.

What distribution packages are available?

We offer different levels of distribution: ( See Rate Table)

Do you guarantee media coverage?

No. We cannot and do not guarantee that any specific journalist, media outlet, or news organisation will pick up or publish your announcement. Distribution means we send your announcement to our networks, but editorial decisions are made by those outlets. We do not guarantee publication beyond our own platform.

Can I target specific journalists or outlets?

Our standard distribution packages are broad. If you require targeted media outreach to specific journalists or publications, you may need to engage a PR freelancer or agency through Collab.'s other service categories.

Terms & Conditions

1. Content Approval

• All submissions must be approved by Collab. before publication
• We reserve the right to refuse content that is misleading, offensive, or irrelevant to our audience
• Industry-related content only—no direct job postings or sales pitches

2. Payment Terms

• 100% payment upfront before publication
• Payments processed securely through Collab. payment system
• Invoicing available for corporate clients (payment within 7 days)

3. Deadlines & Scheduling

• Submissions must be received at least 3 business days before desired publication date
• Newsletter inclusions require submission by Wednesday, 12:00 SAST for Friday distribution
• Event listings require minimum 7 days' notice for calendar inclusion

4. Cancellations & Refunds

• Cancellations received 48+ hours before scheduled publication: 50% refund
• Cancellations within 48 hours: No refund (work already scheduled/prepared)
• No refunds once content has been published or distributed
• Events cancelled by organiser: Credit toward future announcement (valid 6 months)

5. Content Ownership

• You retain all rights to your content
• By submitting, you grant Collab. permission to publish and distribute across our channels

6. Limitation of Liability

• is not responsible for event attendance, registration numbers, or outcomes
• We do not guarantee specific reach or engagement metrics
• Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the service

7. E&OE (Errors & Omissions Excepted)

8. Right to Refuse Service

What is Collab.'s liability regarding published announcements?

This section is critical and limits Collab.'s role strictly to that of a publisher of user-provided content.

• Your Responsibility:You are solely responsible for the accuracy, truthfulness, legality, and quality of the content you submit. You warrant that you have the rights to all content and images submitted, and that your announcement complies with all applicable laws and does not defame or infringe on any third party.
• Collab.'s Role:Collab. is a platform for publishing user-generated content. We do not fact-check, edit, verify, or endorse any announcement. Our review process is a compliance check against our content guidelines only, not a verification of truth or accuracy.

Disclaimer of Liability

Collab. shall not be held liable for any claims, damages, losses, or disputes arising from any announcement published through our service. This includes, but is not limited to:

• The accuracy or truthfulness of any information in an announcement.
• Any defamation, libel, or misrepresentation contained in user-submitted content.
• Any infringement of intellectual property rights by a user.
• The failure of any announcement to achieve desired results or media coverage.
• Any decisions or actions taken by third parties based on published announcements.

If an announcement is inaccurate, defamatory, or infringes on someone's rights, the claimant's sole recourse is against the individual or organisation that submitted the announcement. Collab. is not a party to that dispute.

Indemnification

By submitting an announcement, you agree to indemnify and hold Collab. harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content, your breach of these guidelines, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Right to Reject or Remove

Collab. reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, remove, or refuse to publish any announcement that we believe violates our guidelines, is potentially unlawful, or could expose us to liability. We are not obligated to provide a reason for rejection. This includes, but is not limited to, hate speech, explicit content, false claims, or content promoting illegal activities.

Financial Results Compliance

For announcements containing financial results or regulated information, you warrant that you have complied with all relevant regulations (e.g., JSE Listings Requirements, Companies Act) and that the information is already public or you have the authority to publish it.

No Guarantee of Results

Collab. does not guarantee any specific number of views, media pickups, or any other results from your announcement. Distribution means we send your announcement to our networks, but we cannot control editorial decisions.

Compliance with Law

All users agree to comply with all applicable South African laws, including those related to defamation, privacy (POPIA), advertising standards (such as those of the Advertising Regulatory Board), and intellectual property.
